A precise gesture
Gica Contra 195 is a handcrafted sculptural floor lamp designed by Tommaso Cristofaro to create warm indirect light through an essential vertical form. Its quiet line becomes part of the architecture.
A study in vertical light.
Before it is understood as an object, Gica Contra 195 is perceived as light, shadow and presence in space.

Original working sketches from Tommaso Cristofaro's notebook. Unpolished marks, measurements and thoughts showing the development of Gica and Gica Contra 195.
The imperfections are part of the document. Nothing has been recreated for presentation.
The profile is reduced to what is necessary. Its proportions create tension between vertical line, wall and reflected light.
- form
The source remains visually restrained while warm indirect light meets the wall, producing depth instead of glare.
Each piece is fabricated and finished by hand in the CristofaroLuce atelier in Romania. Small differences in finish are evidence of the making process, not defects to be erased.
Each numbered piece is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity, documenting the model, edition number and authorship.
All color finishes are matte sandblasted. Gold leaf is applied by hand.
