Gica Contra Classic is perceived as a line before it is perceived as an object: a slender vertical presence that brings warm indirect light into the architecture.
Gica Contra Classic was conceived as an essential floor lamp reduced to a single vertical line. Its purpose is not to illuminate directly, but to let light meet the wall and become part of the surrounding space.
Original working sketches from Tommaso Cristofaro's notebook, documenting the early development of Gica Contra Classic: proportion, inclination, structure and the relationship between the vertical line and reflected light.
The drawings are presented as they were made. Measurements, corrections and imperfections remain part of the original design process.

Gica Contra Classic is defined by a slender inclined profile reduced to its essential geometry. The slight angle gives tension to the vertical line, while the restrained structure allows the object to remain light, precise and architectural.
The source remains concealed within the profile, allowing warm indirect light to meet the wall and spread softly into the room. Gica Contra Classic is defined less by the object itself than by the luminous field it creates around it.

Each Gica Contra Classic is assembled and finished by hand in the CristofaroLuce atelier. The profile is shaped, aligned and adjusted individually so that its inclination, balance and reflected light remain precise from every angle.
Each numbered piece is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity, documenting the model, edition number and authorship.
All color finishes are matte sandblasted. Gold leaf is applied by hand.
