A frame of light that defines space through absence and reflection.
Cornice is perceived as a luminous frame: an essential structure that draws light around emptiness, turning the wall and surrounding space into part of the composition.
Cornice was conceived as a sculptural floor lamp in which the illuminated perimeter becomes more important than the object itself. The frame catches and reflects warm light, creating depth, rhythm and a quiet architectural presence.

From the Archive
Original working sketch from Tommaso Cristofaro's notebook, showing the first development of Cornice as an illuminated frame and the study of proportion, perimeter and reflected light.
The drawing is presented as it was made. Measurements, corrections and imperfections remain part of the original design process
- form
04Form
A frame reduced to its essence
Cornice is defined by a slender rectangular structure in which proportion and emptiness carry equal weight. Nothing is added beyond what is necessary to hold the light and define the space around it.
05Light
Light drawn onto the wall
The source remains concealed within the frame, allowing warm indirect light to spread across the wall. The illuminated surface becomes part of Cornice itself, extending the object beyond its physical edges.

06Making
Built around precision
Each Cornice Floor Lamp is assembled and finished by hand in the CristofaroLuce atelier. The frame is aligned, joined and adjusted individually so that its proportions remain clean and the reflected light stays even along the perimeter.
